Competition Damages Teamwork

To build teamwork, a manager set up a competition for employees to choose a new name for the department, with a cash prize to the winner. It ended up that the employees liked the old name, didn’t see a need to change, and resented the reward of a single person winning the prize. The department never adopted the new name.
